 BEFORE BED I USUALLY DRINK A PROTIEN SHAKE THEN ABOUT A HALF HOUR LATER I TAKE 5-HTP/ MELATONIN FOR SLEEP (IT IS A GREAT COMBO) I JUST GOT SOME ZMA FOR FREE AND IM GONNA TRY IT OUT. I WAS WONDERING IF IT WOULD BE BETTER TO TAKE IT A WHILE BEFORE MY SHAKE OR AFTER THE SHAKE WITH THE 5-HTP AND MELATONIN? (I KNOW I SHOULD NOT TAKE IT WITH MY SHAKE BECAUSE CALCIUM INTERFERES WITH THE ABSORBTION OF THE ZINC AND MAGNESIUM AND I MIX MY PROTIEN W/SKIM MILK)

 burnis how so? I can see how ZMA only has a minimal effect on test levels, but it does effect my sleeping patterns ; why do you say its useless?

 Im not sure how anyone can say that essential minerals are "hyped up junk". thats like saying that vitamin c is useless. and if youre taking zma because you think its going to knock you out, then you really dont know what its for.

yeah, but it's a drug that is habbit forming. It should only be used when you really need it. The crap hangs me over the next day too. ZMA is a great supp. better sleep and it will keep your natrual test at it's peak. 1Fast400 brand is only $16 for a 2 month supply. I wish I could take ZMA but I can't because the extra test boost increaces my hair-loss and gives me acne too, so I have to pass. The only way ZMA would be over hyped is if the claim of big gains in lean mass were made.

 I like to think its the zinc that is the main usefull part, cos it affects testosterone production in the testes, so I just buy zinc tabs.Also the other part about ZMA being usefull is because if you workout alot you sweat a lot and lose mineralsThat is why I think it is used by athletes that work out long and hard such as runners, footballers, cyclists.If you dont sweat as much it my not be needed.
