BEFORE BED I USUALLY DRINK A PROTIEN SHAKE THEN ABOUT A HALF HOUR LATER I TAKE 5-HTP/MELATONIN FOR SLEEP (IT IS A GREAT COMBO) I JUST GOT SOME ZMA FOR FREE AND IM GONNA TRY IT OUT. I WAS WONDERING IF IT WOULD BE BETTER TO TAKE IT A WHILE BEFORE MY SHAKE OR AFTER THE SHAKE WITH THE 5-HTP AND MELATONIN?







(I KNOW I SHOULD NOT TAKE IT WITH MY SHAKE BECAUSE CALCIUM INTERFERES WITH THE ABSORBTION OF THE ZINC AND MAGNESIUM AND I MIX MY PROTIEN W/SKIM MILK)

the calcium in the milk is not going to have any noticable effect.

just make sure you take it about an hour before you go to sleep.

I can see how ZMA only has a minimal effect on test levels, but it does effect my sleeping patterns ; why do you say its useless?

You can get valerian root for a fraction of what you pay for zma and it knocks you out. Why spend the extra money for the hyped up junk?

Im not sure how anyone can say that essential minerals are "hyped up junk". thats like saying that vitamin c is useless. and if youre taking zma because you think its going to knock you out, then you really dont know what its for.

Agreed. I take ZMA because of the quality of sleep i get from it...it doesnt help me fall asleep but it definately makes it alot heavier rest. I practically dream every night i take it and i dont hardly when i forget to.

I purchase ZMA when I have a few extra dollars to spend. I really don't notice by sleep being any better but I do notice a few new zits on my shoulders and back. Yes, I know that is kind of gross but it is a sign my t-levels are increasing a little bit. Which can't hurt.

I've used both. Valerian Root did nothing for me, sleep-wise, whereas ZMA has made a noticeable improvement.

How about Dipphenhydramine Hcl? It works better than both.

yeah, but it's a drug that is habbit forming. It should only be used when you really need it. The crap hangs me over the next day too.

ZMA is a great supp. better sleep and it will keep your natrual test at it's peak. 1Fast400 brand is only $16 for a 2 month supply. I wish I could take ZMA but I can't because the extra test boost increaces my hair-loss and gives me acne too, so I have to pass.

The only way ZMA would be over hyped is if the claim of big gains in lean mass were made.

I'v taken valerian and it didn't help me at all, I've also taken ZMA and that did nothing for me. Honestly, I don't understand why so many people take ZMA as a sleep aid or insist that it increases test levels, it's just vitamins and minerals nothing special, yeah they are good for your body but really I think people have come to expect too much from it. Also, I will agree that diphenhydramine helps one sleep.. but I don't really recomend it, quite addictive.. I was taking like 100mg a night for the last month just loved it so much, now I'm just doing my best not to take it at all.

I like to think its the zinc that is the main usefull part, cos it affects testosterone production in the testes, so I just buy zinc tabs.Also the other part about ZMA being usefull is because if you workout alot you sweat a lot and lose mineralsThat is why I think it is used by athletes that work out long and hard such as runners, footballers, cyclists.If you dont sweat as much it my not be needed.
