Here I go w/ another tester log... Luckily, I was selected as a tester for Palo Alto's second product, fat loss/lean muscle enhancer Leviathan. I was, as some may know, a tester for Paravol, as well. Paravol REALLY impressed me, so I'm going into tghis log expecting results, since the bar has been set pretty high w/ Paravol. I'm sure Leviathan is going to be a good, effective product, because Palo Alto seems to really have a knack for putting out top quality products that get results. This is a new log, however, so I'll put the results from Paravol behind me for now and concentrate on evaluating this one. As for my own goals and stats, my goal is to lean out gradually, without sacrificing muscle mass in the process. This was my goal back a couple of months ago, as I was looking toward spring and summer, wanting to be nice and lean, but not give away the gains I had worked hard for, so I decided to start the process earlier than normal, to be sure to hit my goals and have plenty of time to do it right. I was told by Dave, of Palo Alto, that the new product would be comig out, so if I were interested, I could get into the running to do another round of testing. The news came at a great time for me, so I jumped on it. My stats are as follows. I'm 35 yrs old, 36 in may, 6 ft 1, about 232 lbs, approx. 25% bf according to a tanita scale (Ineed to actually get a skinfold test to check for accuracy), and a 41.5 inch waist. I've been cutting now for about three weeks and had been using Rev XP, yohimbine, Dicana (worked up from 3 to 6 caps per day), 7-keto DHEA (worked up from 50 to 200 mg. per day, 1000 mg. of guggulsterones, and usually 7 sprays of Skulpt on the abs usually once per day, sometimes 2X. I lost about 8-9 lbs. on that regimen and appear leaner. Two days ago, I replaced rev XP and yohimbine w/ Leviathan, but will continue to run the other things along side. I already know what results to expect from the previous stack, so I'll be able now to compare the results of Leviathan directly to that of a good fat burner like Rev XP (pretty strong stuff) and yohimbine. It's still very early to give impressions, but I definately feel good on Leviathan. My mood is pleasant on it. I feel uplifted but not buzzed and wired up, like I felt on the other stack. That's refreshing, since I'm willing to endure some sides to hit my goals, but it's certainly nice to able to do it w/o feeling so wired. I'll keep track of my waistline and weight on this stack, but won't report those numbers daily, since there's a lot of fluctuation day to day. I'll probably post those every 3-4 days to get a better idea of how it's realy working. I generally work out about 3-4X per week w/ weights and about 3-4 w/ cardio, sometimes after weights, sometimes solo. I'll provide details along those lines, as I log. I hope this product will help me in my goals and that this log will help me and others get a good picture of how this product stacks up aginst the rest in what's becoming a crowded field of fat burners. From the ingredient profile it sems like it could be a stand out w/ it's testosterone support, but the log will tell the tale. I'm off to hit some cardio!

Ok, back from cardio. I got adventurous and did my morning cardio on an empty stomach w/ 2 Leviathan caps and a can of diet Rock Star. Now, I'm pretty accustomed to stimulants, so I wouldn't recommend it to everybody, bear in mind. I had a REALLY good cardio session, doing 40 mins of moderate activity on the eliptical and sweated my ass off, big time. I imagine I prob burned off a decent little amount of fat. I never felt winded the whole time, so that was nice. Afterward, I did 3 quick sets of 12 on the torso rotation machine by Cybex and 2 sets of 15 crunches. Went right home and downed an awesome shake I whipped up. It consisted of 2 scoops of GNC banana flavored WPI, 3/4 of a cup of ground up old fashioned oats, 2 cups of water and about 4 tbsp. of sugar free choc. flavor syrup by Artisan. It's a company that makes syrups for coffee and italian sodas, same stuff as Da Vinci. So, it was a really tasty choc/banana shake that had a lot of slow burning carbs and fiber, as well as quick proteinSince it's the 1st week of the month, I'll hit a few local GNC's and see what's on clearance. I'm kinda known by the staffs as the guy that buys up stuff at 75% off plus the 20% gold card. Usually, they're overpriced, but I've gotten some steals there, so it's fun to see what I can pay next to nothing for. While I'm out, I'll prob eat a grilled chicken salad and then something higher carb/fiber later...might hit up a weight workout tonight to keep the metabolic fire burning.

Thanks for the encouragement, Dave. It's still very early in the process to say much, but I can say a few things that I do notice, so far. Today, I woke up after like 6 hrs. of sleep and getting up twice at night, feeling pretty groggy. It was one of those mornings where you really wish you could go ahead and call in. I didn't have that option, so i got up and immediately took my two caps of Leviathan, 2 grams of l-carnitine and two caps of Dicana. I mixed up my whey/oat shake for later and got ready to go for the day. I would say within 20-25 mins, I was feeling pretty awake. I didn't feel wired or buzzed, but it was as if I had gotten a decent amount of sleep and was good to go for the day. So, I got to work and gave myself a good hour for the supplements to completely absorb before raising my insulin levels at all. Thwen I gradually sipped down my oat/whey mix and wasn't hungry at all until lunch. I was feeling really good and focused the entire morning and made more sales than usual. Sales can be luck of the draw to some extent, but I know I was more focused, friendly and just sharper. That makes a big difference and customers can sense that. As far as my progress goes, I'm visibly leaner, so, I'm eager to get my bf % tested at the gym to see where I stand. I lost a lb. since starting w/ Leviathan. So far, so good. I'll probably be hitting the gym w/ it tonight, so I'll be able to continue to get a feel for it in the gym. I like the feeling it imparts, so if it delivers the results along w/ the mood lift and pleasantly awake feeling, then I'll be very happy. I found a really good deal on CLA that I'm going to be picking up and adding to my stack. 360 softgels for $34. At that rate I can dose it at about 4 per day for close to three months. It's not the fastest at producing results, but does work prtetty well when you stick w/ it over a few months. I'll report more later and continue to keep an eye on the other logs.

Another quick update before I head out to pick up some 7-keto DHEA....it's on clearance at a GNC in Lawrence, home of KU. I had been using it before at 100 mg, 2X per day. It was cheap enough on clearance that I put it in w/ the other things I'm taking. Last night, I bought a new bodyfat scale that not only tells you weight, bf%, but also bone mineral mass , water weight and muscle mass. It cost me $40 on sale, but I figured it'd come in really handy in figuring out how well things are working for me. It's a lot more accurate than my old scale because it has "athlete mode" which measures more precisely an athlete's body comp (more muscle mass than most people, etc). What was encouraging is that it had me at 19.5%, rather than 25.5% bf. I'm sure I didn't lose 6% that fast, but it just gives me a better idea of what I've really got. I did have a hard time believing I was over 25%, so it was nice to have it confirmed. Anyway, I lost another lb, so that's 2 this week that I've lost. Good news to start the day. Yesterday was kind of a crappy day. I was going on like 5 hrs. of sleep and work sucked, so that affected my mood, but I still think the Leviathan helped make it more tolerable. I took today off and even though I got about 8 hrs. sleep, I woke up a little groggy. I dosed my 2 pills of Leviathan w/ a diet Rock star and I'm definately feeling good now. As before, nice and alert, pleasant, but not at all wired. Usually if you combined another fat burner w/ a diet Rock Star, you'd be feeling a little jittery. This was all on an empty stomach, so I'll have my whey/oats in a few, to let the yohimbine do it's thing w/o being compromised by insulin. On a side note, tonight I have preview passes to see "The Astronaut Farmer", starring Billy Bob Thornton and Virgina Madsen. I go to a lot of preview screenings, but this one will be especially cool, as Thornton and Madsen are actually going to be in attendance! I'm going to get there especially early to make sure I get in. I'll report what it was like, later on. I'm still liking Leviathan a lot. I feel very good on it, as far as mood and energy. Another thing to note is that I've lost 2 lbs. on it this week, an the week's not over, so it seems to be every bit as effective than the Rev XP, I had been using, but w/ much less caffeine and w/o feeling wired. It seems like a very comfortable way to shed fat. I hadn't commented on this before, but I wanted to mention that I think a very good job was done on the packaging. For one, the label looks very sharp w/ the colors and the layout. For another, the caps are blue and black. I like this because, like most of you, I take a good amount of caps per day of various things. It sucks when a lot of your pills look the same and you have a hard time figuring out what's to be taken and when. I carry everything in a little pill organizer and don't have bottles w/ me to remind me what's what. Having a distinctive look to the caps is a big plus for me. More updates later.

Josh, how accurate do you feel that scale to be? Personally, Ive never had luck wth any sort of electronic methods. It would be interesting to see how accurate it is against a skinfold test or hydrostatic weighing. The bone minerl, water weight, and muscle mass are cool features though, assuming that they are accurate. | QUOTE | I hadn't commented on this before, but I wanted to mention that I think a very good job was done on the packaging. I definitely agree with you on this one. Its such a small detail, but the blue/black caps really stand out well, and it can be that much easier to know what you are taking when all your supplements are together. We wanted the label and caps to stand apart from the rest.. I never expected anyone to really "notice" it. We've had a lot of compliments on it though, it's cool to see that the consumer notices this. Ive got to give whoever designed the label a pat on the back. How was the movie? worth seeing?

Dave, thanks for the observations. The "quick update" was my original intent, but I ended up going over a bit. I'm a talker, so it extends to my writing in a lot of cases. Anyway, I do think the scale is probably pretty accurate, but I'm going to have a skinfold test done at the gym, just to double check it. I wish I had access to the water test, but that's not an option. Yesterday, I was able to buy 5 bottles of 7-keto DHEA, so I'll be taking 50 mg. per day of that, to add to the fire. They were dirt cheap, so I had to grab them. I only did one dose (2 caps) yesterday, since I had some errands to run and the movie screening to attend. I didn't get into the gym, but a day off never hurts, esp. in keeping overtraining at bay. The movie was very good and I'd recommend it to anyone, as it was really inspirational. We had to stand in a LONG line w/ delays, but it was worth the wait. Some guys from a website (www.scene-stealers.com) interviewed my girl and me from the line about the movie. So, we're going to be on their website on the 23rd of this month, I believe. So, if anyone wants to see my pretty face...and the face of the poor girl that's subjected to most of my Paravol damage, check out the site on or around that date. We got seats way up front, maybe 5 rows back, so we were very close to Billy Bob Thornton, Virginia Madsen, and the Polish brothers (writer/directors). All in all, it was a fun and entertaining night. I got a few pics w/ my phone, but didn't actually meet anyone. On to today. I got around 3 or 4 hrs sleep last night since I kind of had a hard time coming down from the excitement of the night and wasn't tired for a while. I REALLY didn't want to get out of bed and was dead ass tired. I popped my two Leviathan caps and headed out...no additional caffeine, even. In a few mins, I was up and running, even annoying the piss out of my girl as she was dropping me off for work. That's how awake I was. My method of annoyance was quoting Ronnie Coleman from his "The Unbelievable" video. Someone posted a link to the entire vid here at the forum. It's on youtube and is funny as hell. He psychs himself up by yelling "Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.....light weight, baby!!!!" It's funny because he does it like 13,853 times in the vid. I'll update more later.

Here's an update before i hit up some cardio at the gym... First and formost, some good news. According to my new scale, I've lost another lb, lost fat AND gained muscle!!! Whoooo!!! (Nature Boy prop). On the 6th, the night I bought the new scale, I was at 234.2 lbs. It's about 4 lbs more than my old scale read the same night, so I want to make sure everyone knows I hadn't GAINED weight, but had actually lost a lb, by that count, since that'd put me at 230, by my old sale's standard. Anyway, I'll be referencing weight w/ my new scale, from now on, so that I stick w/ the same standard. That night I was 234.2 lbs, 19.5% bodyfat and 100.00 lbs. of muscle. Honestly, I'm not sure if they mean lbs. or some other measurement, but it read 100.00 for the muscle measurement. I'm going to research it w/ the manufacturer and update soon. Here's the good news...last night (the 9th), I weighed in at 233.2 lns, 18.6% bodyfat and 101.4 for muscle. So, that would indicate that I lost almost a full % point of bodyfat, while adding 1 or so lbs. of muscle...very nice for 3 days. Of course, measurements and weights do vary throughout the day and may not be right on w/ a scale, but from what I've read, they're pretty accurate if you weigh in at around the same time of day, which I did. That being said, I'm very encouraged. I know Leviathan's description says it's designed to do just this, but I'm still a skeptical person by nature. As musch as I was impressed w/ Paravol, I did have my doubts when I first started that log...only to be convinced when the results rolled in after being on it for a little while. The same could be said of Leviathan. I thought it sounded great, but I wasn't sure exactly how effective it'd be in the real world. So, far, anyway, it's delivering what it promises. If results continue this way, I'll be very impressed. I'll provide another update, probably later on tonight...I'm off to sweat my ass off on some cardio!

 | QUOTE (Josh47933 @ Feb 12 2007, 10:47 AM) | Dave,
Yeah, that was pretty encouraging. I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to run a low dose of ATD w/ Leviathan, to lower estrogen at the same time as you're boosting testosterone. I'm not going to do it during this test run, but wondered for future reference if it'd be advisable. Hadi's question about running it w/ Epistane got me thinking about various possibilities for next time. |
