Hmm i see that phenibut acts similar to benzodiazepines, so comes my question - is it addictive ? does the suggested dose become uneffective after constant use? please answer...

Yes, tolerance develops, which is why I wouldn't recommend using it for more than two weeks straight without taking an equivalent amount of time off.

Nobody has yet reported problems with reliance on it, or with use of progressively increasing doses. I didn't see any references to addiction in the literature. So if it is a concern, I doubt it would be a major one.

hmm i have a LITTLE tolerance for benzodi's so does it mean that phenibut will work weaker for me ?

is it any posilibity to restore my answer for such drugs or is it just a matter of time ?

hmm does phenibut inhibit my natural gaba production ?/

thank you for your answer!!!

Yeah, phenibut probably won't work as well if you are already taking benzo's.

If you take some time off, your tolerance will go down.

I'm not sure the mechanism of the tolerance. I'm not sure what the mechanism for benzo tolerance is either. Probably GABA downregulation or decreased receptor sensitivity. Either way, you are bound to get some sort of withdrawal symptoms upon discontinuation of use, and if you are using high doses, you should decrease dosage gradually.

Phenibut does have effects at BZD receptors but they are not well-defined. Unfortunately most of the research on the mechanism of action of phenibut took place when we had much less knowledge of the brain than we do nw.

It is definitely a good replacement for benzodiazepines. It will not be as strong. However you will have much less to worry about in terms of addiction and negative side effects. Be careful and don't take the two at the same time though.

Well, let me tell you, I was one of those poor souls who got addicted to GHB/GBL. I started out using expensive "Renewtrient" products because I was looking for a sleep aid and growth hormone releaser. Of course, I ended up with an addiction to the mellow/euphoric "high" that these products provided. The real problem started when I bought 10 gallons of bulk GBL from an Internet supplier. Suddenly I had a seemingly endless supply of GBL on hand. Eventually my dosing went to every 3 hours... 24/7. GBL was drowning me. I finally kicked the habit, but it wasn't easy.

Anyway, I rambled on about all of that so I could tell you this: Phenibut is not highly addictive. At the most it is mildly addictive. I don't think the phenibut "high" is extreme enough to hook you into a degenerative addiction. That's my experience. Hope it helps.

This may be a stupid question to some, but I always worry about things new going into my body. Is there anything in this stuff to show up on a drug test, such as they would give at an employeer? Just wondering, since it has such a calming affect if it could show up as some type of narcotic or pain medicine, etc, such as how ephedrine, at high doses, can show as an amphetomine (sp.)!

Is there some bodybuilding benefit you guys are seeing from phenibut?

Or is it purely for increased feelings of euphoria?

A few people at our board (including myself), have noticed a great deal of trouble sleeping for a few days to a week, after using it several times per day for a week or two.

Can't recall anyone with problems who just used it once per night at moderate dosing (less than 1g)
