Hi, I wanted to take protein before going to sleep so I was wondering what the best casein is. I was scrolling through the Blended Proteins section and I found VPX Micellean and Micellar Matrix. The reviews had 5 stars but they're not very convincing. Help me out. Thanks.

Ive' taken vpx MRP'S they taste okay.Butthe micellean on the cntainer which has low carb's taste awfull. So go for the MRP'S,but my favorite casein protein are the EAS MYOPLEX new formula they taste so good.So if u are not worry about carb's get the MYOPLEX new formula but if u want low carb protein get BSN LEANDESSERT PROTEIN it also taste real good just like candy. wink.gif

If your not worried about taste, check out proteinfactory.com. Their calcium casienate is inexpensive, but it taste like chalk- no sweeteners, just protein. I just mix with juice, stir with a spoon (or it'll stick to the blender blades) and pound it before bed.

This is the correct answer. Proteinfactory.com rocks. My main shake formula is 1/2 ProtFact Aussie Casien, 1/2 O.N. choc. whey (from 1Fast400, of course). There are some little chunks in it that you won't find in their miscellar casien, but it's not worth an extra 4 bucks a pound to get the chunks out. Just swallow 'em and save the $$

You may want to check out the article I wrote on casein linked below, I give my opinion on the best products available.

Regarding Protein Factory:

Shpongled-
Read both reports, and I stand corrected. I was unaware Mike had most of his supplements tested for purity. I know that shit ain't cheap. (Thanx Mike). Also I will be checking out labelclaimstesting.com before I purchase new supplements. biggrin.gif

Doggone, I already ordered Miscellean yesterday. I didn't think anyone posted on my thread. I should've read the article below that says HSN Driver's the best casein.

Question: I read the article about the case. So Protein Factory is good or bad? I guess it's bad because it lost, right?

I wouldn't use the word "bad." "Whiney," maybe. The stuff they tested from protein factory wasn't dogshit, but it was off by a couple grams of protein per serving than what's on the label. They lost the case b/c they were wrong tongue.gif

It depends on your goals. IMO Driver or Ultra Peptide is the best way to go for something that is mostly just protein. If you want something with carbs also than Micellean isn't all that bad.

I try to avoid companies who don't meet label claims and then try to hide the fact. There are other good sources of bulk protein powders out there if you look around, if you are looking to cut the price some and don't mind not having the fancy packaging and such.

What do you mean carbs? Micelean has like 3 or 4 carbs. That's nothing. Driver only has like 17g of protein. I'm just wondering how that's supposed to replenish my body's thirst for protein over a 7 hour period.

Micellean has 22 g of carbs per serving. 2 grams of sugar.

Sure, per serving. But if I make the serving size 12 scoops, or 250 g of protein, does that make it a better product? If you want more you can just use two servings. What you need to look at is the nutrient makeup - macronutrient percentages and such.

Sorry. I was talking about this Micellean product, which only has 2g of carbs. http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=285

Driver and Micellean are both priced similarly. Although Driver supposedly has two or three more servings and is about 5 bucks cheaper, Micellean has 20g of protein per serving whereas Driver only has 17g. I take at least 30grams a night so if you do the math, I think you get more out of Micellean.

By the way, I was wonder if there's anywhere I could get GOOD casein in bulk. I was surprised BulkNutrition doesn't have more than 3 pounds of casein and the prices are outrageous. I don't know how much they cost at GNC and other supplement shops but I easily spend over 100 bucks getting my fill of casein a month. Wow... I'm going to have to check out Protein Factory. I'm taking a pounding here.

Don't buy from protein factory. Go to blackstarlabs.com.
