Well this question comes to mind after getting tested on a Biophotonic Scanner which basically test how much of the vitamins u are taking anti's etc are actually getting absorbed. Well me along with 2 other guys at the gym took the test and our scores came out very low. But people who did not exercise that day or as much scored sky high on the test. THe results I guess are saying that the vitamins I am taking which I don;t take shit from like Sam's etc are not getting absorbed.
What are some of your guys opinions on this. I do take NOw vitamins and also GNC vitamins when they are on sale so I think the brands like NOw are prettty damn good>But it did piss me off thinking I am wasting money on vitamins that are not getting absorbed.

What are your guys thoughts

Even though I wouldn't say that I'm an expert or anything, it would sound to me like you and the 2 other guys scored low due to the fact that you did workout harder or longer, and because of that your body probably used them up. The other people probably scored high b/c they didnt do anything and they didn't use them up. That's just and educated guess, not an expert opinion or anything. smile.gif

Admittedly without looking into this company's product to deeply, I would seriously question the results when they sell supplements to bring up these supposed low levels.

BTW they "claim" it measures carotenoid levels, not all vitamins, fruits and vegetables are high in carotenoids, most people don't eat enough fruits and vegetables so it would be a safe guess levels would be low. I also don't know what they consider to be "low".

Health is not the absence of symptoms.

This is just a suggestion but maybe the perceived low absorption rates were due to the fact that vitamin supps are pakced with huge amounts of vitamins supposedly to ensure that at least some of it gets utilized. Assuming one can only absorb so many vitamins at one time, there is likely to be a lot of waste. So, the vitamin supps aren't necessarily useless, they're just packed to the brim and bound to have left-overs.

Keep taking your vitamins. The scanner in question is rigged to specifically look for a certain vitamin that their company happens to be loaded with. They will scan you and then scan themselves and show that theirs are better and tehn try to sell you their vitamins. It is a pretty fun test to mess with.
