After about 2 years of talking about it, I finally took a stopwatch in the gym to time my rest out more effectively and
man have I been wasting a lot of time (hell, i'll bet most of the long workout ppl do)
Went with 1:30-1:45 rest between sets (depended on how long set took to complete), basically started every set on each even minute.
Needless to say, EXCELLENT workout! Pump was insane with the reduced rest time and motivation was a bit higher since i felt compelled to begin sets, rather than just waiting til i felt ready. In fact, when I finally did a few sets of hammer curls to finish off the workout, I honestly though I was going to rupture a vessel in my right bicep, i'd never felt that swollen before and the vascularity was out of this world!
Anyway did Max-OT style workout:
3 sets pull ups to failure
2 sets cable rows
2 sets v-bar pulldowns
2 sets BB rows
1 set DB rows
3 sets BB shrugs
2 sets hammer curls
2 sets reverse-grip BB curls
Finished in 40 minutes, including a 5 minute restroom break. Pretty efficient IMO. Definitely will keep this newfound habit.
