Okay, this is my adopted dog. His name is Max and hes the best dog ever. The other day the maintance guy came over while i was taking a nap, and my wife let him in to fix the vent above the stove. Well the dog was growling and bareing his teeth at the guy and my wife couldnt even sign the completion sheet without the dog going after him. He is very protective of me and my family but not the least bit agressive towards us, he wont even stare me down and hes great with my daughter, i love this dog.

im trying to get a dobby too. but the wife says if i want a new dog then this one has to go. the only kid of dog i havent had is a dobberman, i come from a broken family so i had like 3 dogs at a time in different places, but i never got to raise a dobby.

BTW he is a shepard/ rot mix.

Im looking into getting a German Shephard myself. I just don't know how active they are, in terms of throwing ball at the park and things of that nature

My favorite dog. They will pretty much do whatever you want to. When I wanted to just chill she would too and when I wanted to go out and run or play catch she would do that too. You will not regret getting a German Shephard, Animal.

Rots and dobbys are pretty much the same way, by far my favorite dogs from wat ive seen of dobbys at least. Rots IMO are the most loyal of all dogs that ive had, and theyre really smart. i trained mine to turn the TV on and bring me the remote, never could teach him to roll over though.

Yeah I definitely want a dog that's loyal..but also friendly..I don't want him to snap on every person he sees and doesn't know..I would just want him to be cool with the people unless he knows there's something wrong..

That is any dog. I can raise a tea cup poodle to be agressive as hell and bite everything that moves, that dont mean its an aggressive breed of dog. A dogs temperment is entirely based off its owner, and how its raised and trained. No dog is aggressive by nature, unless you count feral dogs( wolves, cyotes). My brother has a pit that is huge, but its one of the most mild mannerd dogs ive seen. The only time she barks is when she see's violence cuz it scarres her.

What ever dog you get just train it to be how you want it, dont worry about the breed just get one you like.

hell no, they would have to go through me to get him, and i doubt thats gonna happen. The ones they consider aggressive are- pits, boxers, chows, rots, dobbys, and bull dogs- hah kinda funny the marine corps mascot is a bull dog and we arent allowed to have them in base housing, go figure.

I had a golden retriever for years when I was growing up. Very loyal, very friendly and pretty intelligent. Great dogs. Right now I've got a bulldog (pics are in the first page or two of this thread) and she's awesome too. Great if you've got an apartment and can't exercise the dog too much. She can only do a block or two before being completely winded, lol.
