The shirt press and the bench press are two entirely different lifts and involve different muscles and a different ROM. To call them the same lift is just flat out dishonest. So, let's take a vote and seltte this worn out futile arguement once and for all! I'll go first.

the owner of my gym is in the top 12 powerlifters in the world. he benches a fuck load with or without a suite. do you even workout?

Wouldn't raw benchers run the risk of getting hurt more? Especially once you're working with 600+lbs.

I don't think anyone wants that. It would be a short raw benching career.

Maybe that's why working with a shirt not only makes it more fun (progress a lot faster) but maybe limits the injury risk? I'm just guessing here. I know guys do get hurt benching with a shirt too.
