Hey guys,

I just got word of this contest/charity idea. I thought it was such a great way to help others out while giving yourself a chance to win some sweet prizes, that I just had to share it here.

I'm posting the link to the original thread, so you can go check it out for yourself. i think a ton of you will want to get involved, like I did. I just made my donation, so I'm entered for a chance to win prizes from a bunch of different supp. companies.

Basically, the more generous you are, the better chance you'll have of winning. The organizer is trying to raise $2000 to be split evenly between research for prostate and breast cancer. Once the 2k is reached, the raffle begins and numbers are drawn to win the prizes.

I'll let you check out the thread for yourselves, since I'm not involved in the thing, myself. I just wanted to promote it here, since I think it's one of the best and most positive ideas I've ever seen on the boards I frequent. Good luck to whoever gets involved!

thanks for posting this Josh, Guys I just wanted to add a list of the prizes and how it works. We are really excited about doing this and would love some more support from another great forum.

Even if you dont like AM, this is a GREAT cause and the prizes keep adding up. Im glad I could be a part of it. We will most likely continue to do this throughout the year with different charities/causes getting the donations eachtime.

Then, once we reach 2k$, the draw will be with a random number generator, your names will be placed in an Excel sheet, all with their respective numbers assigned, and we will be able to determine the winners efficiently like this.

Hell of a prize list! I'm just surprised no one had ever thought of this idea before, since it would benefit so many ppl. between the charities and the prize winners. Anyone else gonna get in on this one? I dropped a few bucks last night, hoping to help out and win some cool stuff. Let's support this.

You do have to have paypal, but it'd be worth starting one up for this reason. Paypal is great for ebay and is an easy setup.

Bumping a great contest. I'm kinda surprised not many guys are excited about this. Call me an idealist, but I thought this was an excellent idea. Has no one else gotten in on this?

BUMP....83 views so far and only three of us think this is a good idea? Where's the love for charity (and winning a ton of cool prizes if doing a good thing for its own merit isn't enough for ya)???

Seriously, though, this is a great idea and I really thought a bunch of you guys would be jumping all over this one. I gotta admit, I'm surprised about the lack of chatter about this. Let's support some good causes and win some great supps. at the same time.

Good to see that, MM. For a min there, I was thinking no one was gonna step up. I think there's less than $600 to be raised until the goal is reached and drawings are done. Whoever wants to get in on this better hurry because it will probably be all done in a few more days.

As of last night, over $2100 was raised. A lot of guys got generous and stepped up for a two great causes. I'm glad someone did this, as I think it's a great idea.

I didn't see anywhere near the response I would on this board, but I hope a few of you contributed, even though you may not have posted about it. The prize drawings begin tonight, I believe, so close to 100 supps. will be sent out from some real stand up companies that donated products to be used for prizes. Good luck in the drawing for anyone that got in on this.

Ok, the drawing began tonight for the contest, so I thought I'd do a quick update on what I've won so far. I think I've had a pretty good night....

Ok, it's over now and I ended up winning a bottle of LG Speed in addition to the earlier mentioned stuff. I'm very happy w/ the results. There's already talk about doing it again toward Christmas and donating money to make the Holidays better for poor kids. There's also talk of possibly doing it instead around Thanksgiving and using the funds to buy turkeys for families that can't afford them.

I was hoping the idea would have caught on better over here, but there's always next time, assuming those other plans go to seed.
