Well I have to say the moderators on this board are some of the most knowledgable people I have seen in this area. I am 38 and just getting back into shape after being out of shape for too many years. I have been working out daily for about 3 months and started on a low carb diet to lose fat fast. The first month I lost 20 lbs mostly bodyfat and moved to high protien and moderate carbs. I am a member at a gym that did my bf% and they didn't use calipers. The measured and gave me a bf% of 25%. I think I am less based on the fact that I only have a gut left and carry some fat still in my face and chin. That is where I need help is taking that fat out now because that is always my trouble area. I will list my stats below to help with advice. I was doing 30 minutes cardio until this week and am now focussing more on weights. My reasoning is the added muscle will do more to burn fat then cardio. I am in martial arts and want to remain limber as I put on mass. I am currently taking
creatine powder and adding
Pinnacle NOX2. I am taking 250 mg of ephederine in a time release for my sinuses but found when I quit I lost stamina big time so I went back on it. I am taking
glutamine and
multivitamins as well as a lipotronic 3X a day. I am wanting to go on S1 or Methyl-Dien and am looking for advice. I want to build in a way that I can move my bf% down as I build lean muscle mass. I also have elevated liver enzymes (hereditary), I dont drink or do drugs and my dr says the elevated liver enzymes are caused by a fatty liver. This was after having my liver biopsied. I know there is a risk in elevating the enzymes but I feel the risk is offset by the reduction in bf%. Let the advice rip:)
Age: 38
Height 6'1"
Weight 246
Large frame
BF% 25% According to 24 hour fitness, don't know whether it is accurate
The weight charts say max weight on me should be 192 but I don't see how. I would have to lose a lot of muscle mass to get there.
