 Selling cars can be harder than you think. When I did it, it was luxury so it was harder yet. You get guys that don't NEED a car and are not on a timetable. They'd come by, drive, leave, talk to you a few times on the phone, come back and drive again. Then they'd go to Lexus, BMW, Acura, etc. and beat you up on the deal til you made the minimum commission if you did make the sale. So, you'd work your ass off for like 100 bucks. Maybe selling Chevy's or something would've been easier, but it just wasn't for me, working a ton of hrs for just ok money. This was 100% commission though and there was no system of taking turns on customers, just whoever got to them first. So there was this one dude who was a total sniper and would seem to always be lurking around. I'd see a car roll in, head that way and you'd see his ass walking up to greet them. So, he would get a ton of sales and other guys were struggling to get a few. Frustrating work, I thought.
