I am extremely overweight. 30 years old, 5'6 and 314 lbs.

I want/need to lose alot of weight.

What would be the best plan af action for dieting. I think I need more of a lifestyle change than an actual "diet".

Should I count calories?

Also any supplements recomendations would be appreciated too.

Thanks for your forthcoming replies!

If I were you I would count calories at this point. Figure up what your minimum calorie need is and approx how many you burn during your daily life and you need to have a deficit of 500 cal a day to lose a pound a week. Sorry but there are no quick fixes. You will have to do a search somewhere and there is a equation to figure base calories for life needed( figures in weight, age and few other things and go from there. I lost 30 lbs this year doing that. You need to do some cardio, dont kill yourself but work hard. You need to really figure out what calories you need and actually use. If you cut things out too much you will begin losing muscle mass and becomes nearly impossible to lose fat. 20 to 30 minutes of cardio first thing is the morning on an empty stomach is prime time for burning fat. But once again after that 20 or 30 minutes you need to stop and take in some nutrition or you will become catabolic and lose muscle. Incorporate weight training for sure, more muscle means more calories burned. Just rememberas long as it took you to get out of shape, plan on it taking that long to get back in shape. It has to be a lifestyle. Dont kill yourself in the beginning or you will get hurt and quit working at it. If I can help in any way pm me. clean diet is everything, no pill will do the work for you

I'd reccommend bloodwork first, check to see if you have a thyroid problem.

Once you've eliminated any pressing health issues, you can really focus on diet and exercise to lose the weight.

It is possible, theres this dude at my gym who managed to lose 110 lbs. It took him the better part of a year but he still did it...

yes I was planning on adding that. Blood work is very good thing. Check your t3, t4, prolactin, testosterone and a full metabolic profile. I really would not be quick to let a dr put me on some weight loss pill. If your test levels are low you may have to go to a anti aging dr to get some help, a lot of general practioners shy away from giving testosterone therapy. It is gonna take some time but time well spent. Remember a lot of body builders need 8-12 weeks of percontest dieting to get ready for a show. Not that you are going after those results, I am just saying someone that is already in superior shape with great muscle mass needs two to three months, be aware it will definitely take you a lot longer.

Hey...,Never fear... A simple fat loss diet is here! Start consuming less amount of fats and carbo's which makes your body heavy and intake more amount of essential vitamins and nutrients which enhance the secretion of the fat burning hormones and decrease the secretion of the fat storage hormones. Through this anyone can reduce their weight without following strict diet plan.
