I have been lifting for several months now, and am considering taking whey protein as a supplement. I have been doing some research about it, and I cannot see any reason why not to. Is there any side effects or long-term effects that anyone knows about, something that is not usually mentioned in any reviews or articles? Any information on the subject would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Unless you are lactose intolerant, you will only benefit from whey protein supplementation.

Whey protein is an isolated milk-protein derivative. It is good for your health and it is even better for you if you are an athlete or looking to put on muscle. There are few 'better' dietary supplements out there in my opinion...

I consider Fish Oil to be superior.

I consider an Ephedrine/Caffeine stack to be superior if you are looking to lose weight.

And I consider Anabolic Steroids & Creatine to be superior if you are looking to build LBM.

But that's it really*.

* This is assuming you are getting sufficient dietary protein from other sources such as whole foods...

If you are looking for a superior protein component, I don't think you can get much better than Beverly Muscle Provider. A lot of the Miceller (spelling?) proteins are good as well. In terms of MRP's, leanmass matrix cinamon oatmeal is awesome and I am looking forward to Labrada's new "breakfast" MRPs (which can be used at any time of the day)

Regarding Whey, I recently started taking 100% Whey ON and like it. But does anyone have sexual perfomance issues when taking this? I know it sounds stupid and have not read any issues with it, but when I stop it for a day I notice my libido is strong again. The only other things I take are a mutli-viatamin and fish oil, and try to eat a health diet. Please add any insight you can. Thanks.
