Which do I want? Do I aim for most EPA/DHA or is the total amount of fish oil important?

Also, I found that the olive oil I have at home is "extra virgin" made with "cold pressing" in a nice, dark bottle (I still don't know the significance of this, but what the heck).

How and when do I want to take it?

I agree with this wholly and completely (you can add Evening Primrose Oil on here too, but if you're getting enough Fish & Olive Oil it's basically an unnecessary additiion). These are the four oils you should really focus on, and you should REALLY be giving priority to Fish & Olive Oil...

It takes roughly 6g/ED (of Fish Oil, not EPA/DHA) over a period of a few months to get to the point where you consistently have the ligands in EPA (and DHA to a smaller extent) binding to and activating PPAR-alpha on the cellular level in muscles. I don't know what your diet/calorie intake is, but start by taking a Tbsp. with your last meal or pre-bed protein shake or whatever. 1-2 Tbsps./day is more than sufficient to begin reaping the benefits of Olive Oil intake.

I usually eat cottage cheese with flax seed and almonds before bed. Should I replace the almonds with the table spoon of olive oil? How many grams of oil in one table spoon, by the way?

When do I take another spoon? Is it ok in the morning with the usual oats/protein or should I only take it with pf meals? I don't always have more than 1 pf meals every day.

And can someone please tell me what "extra virgin" means? smile.gif

Every piece of information I have about nutrition makes it logical to seperate fat from carbs to some degree... so I do my best to lower the carbs when there's fat around and vice versa.
12gs is not a small load... maybe I'll take smaller doses during the day.

How do I incorporate the fish caps later on? Just add 6-10 caps a day with meals and lower from the overall fat?

Not detrimental, but yes it could potentially reduce mass gains - both muscle mass and fat mass. It's just a double-edged sword - everyone is ultra-concerned because COX inhibitors reduced protein syntheses, well they also reduce lipogenesis. However, from a health perspective, increased inhibition of AA is clearly the better option, and I have yet to see evidence that it is rate-limiting to muscle growth in any way - the body exists in a delicate balance, and just because inhibiting something interferes with protein synthesis, doesn't mean increasing it will increase protein synthesis. JMHO - like I said previously, I don't think it's going to make a big difference body comp-wise, either way.

I came across an abstract at one point indicating that fish oil was much more effectively incorporated during overfeeding in humans, unfortunately I can't find it right now.

Hi I am about 195 5'9/5'10 prolly about 20lbms over weight. I was wondering on what supplements I should include in my diet and a good exersice regimine. Also, I just bought redline and tried it out for a day so far and am noticing a shakey response to only one pill...I think it will go away in a couple of days based on most reviews. Please give me some feed back on this topic. thanks a bunch!

its designed to create a shivering response in the body....

the theory is you burn a shitload of cal's by shivering. lol Im Not a huge fan of this product. I've used the liquid version in the energy drink section and basically spazzed out like i had parkinsons for an hour.

im sure in time it wont effect you the same. I would just use Ephedrine, Yohimbe and caffeine.
