[B]Please Help!!

I have just had my free testosterone tested and it is low (39.6) and I suffer from MPB(Male Pattern Baldness). I want to increase my free testosterone without increasing my MPB. Is there a way I can do this with steriods or supplements?

The only thing I can think of doing is hormone replacement therapy and taking Saw Palmetto. SP knocks out DHT which is a contributing factor with MPB.

Talk with your doc. He'll probably prescribe either a testosterone cream or perhaps injections of test. You just don't want it becoming DHT in your body and the DHT going to your hair folicles.

150- 200 mg of Test Cyp a week or every two weeks, depending. Add in some finasteride and you should be good to go. Did your doctor say anything? Norm, ally they will prescribe HRT if you are real low.

for those about to rock, we salute you.

Actually, Saw Palmetto does very little to reduce DHT's effects on hair loss. It is best used as a treatment or prevention for BPH.

I would second the suggestion of finasteride, especially if the bulk of your hair loss is at the crown or top of your head. I believe Dutasteride is supposed to be more useful in blocking both types of DHT and therefore reducing hair loss at the front of the head. However, I haven't seen much empirical evidence of how well it really works.

Thanks For your Replies Guys.

HRT was mentioned in the form of an implant. However my MD seemed to think this would contribute to MPB. Then by perscibing Proscar or finsteride (Proprecia) this would protect the MPB but reduce my Libido again. I dont know if she (MD) has a clue of what she is talking about. If she does then I am screwed.

My MPB is receeding at the front. Where would I find out more on Dusteride?

Cheers,

Greg
